Mission Statement

Musicians In Motion is a non profit organization that brings volunteer musicians to play in health care facilities. The purpose of these bedside performances is simply to uplift and help patients through the healing process.

Description

We go room to room in health care facilities to play for patients who are not well enough to leave their rooms. Our Musician volunteers perform for the patients, while our Guide volunteers escort the musicians around the facility and act as a liason between the musicians and care facility.

I serve as a guide volunteer with Musicians in Motion (MIM) every week and I truly love it! It amazes me the way music lightens a patient's mood and soothes even a concerned and worried family member. We LOVE our musicians and the hospital staff is grateful for our visits. You will not regret spending time with this organization. The moments I've witnessed a tear falling, or seeing beautiful smiles as we leave a patient's room will forever stay with me. Its not easy seeing what we see, as we serve in a burn unit and other rehabilitation facilities, but music makes those tough images easier to bare for everyone. The staff that works with MIM is incredible and you will be trained with people that know and LOVE what they are doing :)
