Mission Statement

The mission of Coffee House Press is to publish exciting, vital, and enduring authors of our time; to delight and inspire readers; to contribute to the cultural life of our community; and to enrich our literary heritage. By building on the best traditions of publishing and the book arts, we produce books that celebrate imagination, innovation in the craft of writing, and the many authentic voices of the American experience.

Description

Founded in 1984, Coffee House Press, a nonprofit literary publishing house located in Northeast Minneapolis in the Historic Grain Belt Bottling House, is a nationally recognized literary arts organization that presents contemporary fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction by outstanding local and national writers in beautifully designed books, both paper and electronic. We are regarded as one of the premier literary publishers in the country, noted for consistent editorial excellence; for an adventurous sense of discovery; for a commitment to celebrating America’s unique diversity; for the elegant design and production of our books; for our ability to generate extensive review coverage for our books on a regular basis; and for our continuing commitment to writers, to readers, and to literature as an art.
