Mission Statement

The Guardian Angel Safety Patrol of San Diego: We patrol urban high-crime areas on foot, and by bicycle. We deter crime by making our presence known in these areas. We offer first-aid when needed, stop fist-fights, intervene in situations and call the police when necessary. We are trained in how and when to perform citizen's arrests. Our members are also trained in self-defense, CPR certified, and are always under the supervision of the Captain or a Patrol Leader. Our mission is to keep the community safe from crime and violence.

Description

This volunteer opportunity is open to men and women. We are a multi-ethnic group and consist of all religions, and none. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age with NO VIOLENT felony record. There is no upper age limit. Members must be able to walk for extended periods of time, since our main agenda is foot-patrol. There is a 4 hour minimum per week which every week includes a 2 hour patrol and a REQUIRED 2 hour training session. New members are trainees until they pass the training tests to become a full-fledged Guardian Angel. This could take 3-4 months or longer, depending on hours invested in training and patrolling. Everyone must supply their own equipment such as flashlights. They must also provide their own urban camoflauge b.d.u.'s (black, grey and white military style pants with cargo pockets). Black pants may be worn until member acquires the urban b.d.u.'s or checks out a pair from the group. Black boots are preferred, but black shoes are acceptable. Footwear must be comfortable. Members must also purchase their own scarlet red beret. The group will provide the Guardian Angel t-shirts, jackets, and two-way radios which are checked-out and returned after training or patrol that day and will remain property of the Guardian Angels.

guardians bunch of racist who profile and incriminate. i remeber a few years back on college ave when this goup witness a small asian kid be threathen by a 6.5 ish ft white man. the whole time the kids was trying to walk away but the man had his fist up blocking his path and trying to swing. angel guardians assumed the kid was a trouble maker and wouldnt try to calm the man down. maybe hoping to witness a beating. the kid managed to side step and run. but that bear gave gave and so did the "angel." that kid must have been afraid for his life being chased by a gang who wanted to harm him. guardian angels patrol to encourages white oppression and violence. they dont patrol to ensure safety or up hold the law.
