Our Annual Events:
Friendship Firehouse Festival. On August 4, 2012, tour the Firehouse, get a free balloon, climb up on a real fire truck, shop from arts & crafts vendors, and enjoy a piece of cake as we celebrate our anniversary.
Friendship Firehouse Picnic A new event has been re-scheduled for early September, 2012 and will be held in "the Grove" at the Virginia Theological Seminary. Families of Firefighters, Association Members, and the Alexandria Community come together at a fabulous picnic. Food, games, and music await!
Firefighters Memorial Ceremony To be held next on October 11, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Ivy Hill Cemetery (2823 King Street, Alexandria) this event honors firefighters fallen in the line of duty. A luncheon follows the ceremony which is attended by Firefighters, City Officials, and members of the Association.
Breakfast & Program Meeting Next on February 18, 2013; have a hearty breakfast, listen to a prominent guest speaker and enjoy good fellowship on the morning of the George Washington Birthday Parade.
Father's Day at Friendship Free tours for fathers on Father’s Day, June 17, 2012. Friendship Firehouse will make every father an honorary chief of the Friendship Fire Company Bucket Brigade; and Dad will receive his own honorary chief certificate!
New Events in 2012
Best Dressed Gingerbread Firehouse. A juried contest with an exhibition to follow. Submissions will be accepted after Thanksgiving. More information to come.
A First Night Street Dance. We expect to be a venue at First Night Alexandria on December 31, 2012 and will be hosting a street dance in front of the Firehouse. Details forthcoming.
