Mission Statement

Washington Musica Viva, Inc. was formed in 1998 to provide an intimate informal performance venue for classical and contemporary chamber music, in conjunction with presentations by literary and visual artists. Part of the mission of Washington Musica Viva is to encourage collaboration among the arts in order to stimulate new forms and ideas, and to create new audiences by breaking down barriers between artistic disciplines. These performances also serve to bring the visual arts, literary arts, and performance communities together to get to know one another and find common ground.
