Description

VOLUNTEERS OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION (VORD) is non-profit, non-profit and non-governmental organization working to assist in the improvement of the lot of the vulnerable and deprived in society through Agriculture and other integrated rural development programmes. VORD as an AGRO org is base in the South Akuapem District of the Eastern Region of Ghana. We are registered as a charity and a voluntary organization in Ghana under the companies code. AIMS & OBJECTIVES: To reduce poverty through Agriculture and food security. To promote voluntarism and involve youths in programmes that encourages self help initiatives. To offer emergency assistance to victim of man made or natural disasters. We monitor government activities on agriculture, promote new laws and regulations, initiate and support community activities, provide economic services, encourage fellowship within communities. The work is done by volunteer leaders serving on boards and committees and planning social outings, educational workshops and community forums; encouraging agricultural education in public schools; writing policy that guides the organization's lobbying. VORD as effective and powerful as members like you want them to be. There is always need for the enthusiastic worker, as an out-in-front leader or a behind-the-scenes doer. Rewards are great, for the organization and for the individual. There is great satisfaction in working hand-in-hand with friends and neighbors for a common cause.
