Mission:

"Giving Voice to Diversity in the Ozarks," with an emphasis no the GLBT Community.


Vision:

The Men’s Chorus of the Ozarks seeks to create innovative and provocative performances for the educational and cultural enrichment of the community.

The Chorus’ vision is three-fold:

To Entertain. The Chorus will create a sense of hospitality, fun and enjoyment in its performances.

To Enlighten. The Chorus will encourage new ways of thinking about people, their challenges and achievements.

To Empower. The Chorus will instill a more robust strength of character and reassurance in all who hear its voices.

Description

The Men’s Chorus of the Ozarks is a volunteer group whose purpose is to produce a wide variety of music for the educational and cultural enrichment of the community. We seek to entertain, enlighten, enrich and empower our members, supporters and audiences, so as to fulfill the vision of our founding members, "Giving Voice to Diversity in the Ozarks".

The Chorus creates innovative, entertaining and provocative performances that enhance the arts inSpringfieldand the greater Ozark’s area. We also seek to honor, preserve and expand the artistry of the all-male chorus.

Membership

The Men’s Chorus of the Ozarks is open to all, regardless of musical abilities, race, gender, religion, age, physical abilities, sexual orientation or economic means. Members are equally dedicated to performing vocal music of the highest quality for its audiences and to maintaining an atmosphere of camaraderie, support and respect for its members.

Membership is attained by either:

(1) Performing with the chorus during concerts and presentations

(2) Working on behalf of the chorus in a non-performing capacity

I helped to found this organization. If you are LGBT or support the rights of LGBT citizens and live in the Springfield, Missouri area, I invite you to check them out. Since they are a volunteer-ran organization, their website and facebook are often hit-or-miss, but calling or emailing info@ozarkschorus.com are usually pretty good ways to touch base with them.
