Description

Located in the heart of Riverside Historic District in downtown Evansville, Indiana, Reitz Home Museum is a French Second Empire building from 1871. It was built for lumber baron John Augustus Reitz, and was designed by architect Henry Mursinna.

An ambitious redecoration in 1891 is the current interpretation. Many of the original furnishings and family portraits grace the home.

The Carriage House serves as the interpretive center, museum shop and offices. The museum is open daily, excluding Mondays
