Mission Statement

The Therapeutic Recreation Unit of the Conejo Recreation and Park District recognizes the opportunity for recreation participation as a necessary component of a full life. This necessity is had by all individuals, regardless of whether a disability is present. The Therapeutic Recreation Unit strives to ensure that Conejo Valley's residents with disabilities have access to quality recreation participation opportunities.

Description

Provides recreation, leisure, social and special events programs for individuals with developmental disabilities of all ages. Programs include afterschool programs, camps, Special Olympic sport training programs, outings, the arts, cooking and more. These programs are held weekdays, evenings and weekends, year round. Volunteers are welcome to assist in all aspects of the program, as qualifications permit, from advising staff on policy development, to program development, assistance with participants in recreation programs and/or resource development and fundraising.
