Mission Statement
Founded in 1999, the Alliance for Conflict Transformation (ACT), Inc. is dedicated to building peace through innovative education, training, research and practice worldwide. ACT works with educators, youth, community and religious leaders, non-governmental organizations, and governmental agencies to transform social conflicts into opportunities for peaceful change.
Description
ACT has three program areas: (1) Training and Education, (2) Conflict Intervention, (3) Assessment, Research and Evaluation. We conduct programs in the U.S. and around the world. For example, in partnership with George Mason University in Virginia, we host the annual Benjamin Franklin Summer Institute with South and Central Asai for 45 teenagers from India, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistand and the United States.
