Way Maker Ministries is a faith-based, non-profit organization in Harvey, LA whose mission is to help change the lives of those who society has deemed there is no hope for. While WMM’s services to the homeless and ex-offenders in New Orleans initially began in 1990, WMM was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1997. WMM’s services for adults include emergency shelter services for homeless ... mothers and their children as well as parenting education and skills building programs. WMM services for children consist of summer enrichment programs, mentoring of child prisoners, a Character First after-school program, and a support group for children of addicted parents. Collectively, these programs reach tens of thousands of individuals each year. In the past several years, WMM has been a key organization in providing relief to children, adults, and families who continue to suffer from devastating consequences of Hurricane Katrina.
