Art for Change is an organization that provides a forum for creating innovative art and media programs that inspire people to take an active role in social justice.
Description
Art for Change is looking for bright and motivated people to join its family of passionate volunteers. Since its inception, Art for Change has relied on the efforts of volunteers to administer its programs and its vision for social justice and community development. Past and current volunteers often take a leadership role within the organization affairs and the most committed have been inducted in the founders' collective. Drawing from President's Obama call to service, we encourage people willing to dedicate their time and energy towards public good to consider joining a community of like minded but diverse individuals, dedicated to take action towards a positive social change.
Based in East Harlem, Art for Change is an award winning grass roots and community based organization dedicated to providing a forum for creating innovative art and media programs that inspire people to take an active role in social justice. Since its inception in 2000, Art for Change has offered New York City a wide range of programs that utilize art as a catalyst for addressing poverty, racism, displacement and immigration. Art for Change provides a forum where artists and various communities engage is social and political discourse.
