Mission Statement

Echo Shaw Elementary School's purpose and vision is to provide a challenging, well-rounded, and accessible education to each child in our care, to promote a sense of community and shared goals, to foster strong skills in reading as the foundation for future academic success, and to celebrate the unique gifts of each child.

Description

Approximately seventy-three percent of the students at Echo Shaw Elementary come from low-income families, and about sixty-six percent are minorities. Our students, therefore, while bright and motivated, must overcome some formidable challenges. Even so, Echo Shaw has received a rating of "Exceptional" from the Oregon Department of Education for two consecutive years.
