Mission Statement

To unite and organize the residents of Harrison County and the surrounding area in a volunteer effort; to assess the area's needs for human care services; to determine what services will best promote the welfare of the residetns of the area and to aid in the delivery of such services by soliciting and making prudent use of resources made available to it from any source.

Description

United Way partners with 22 non-profit organizations. These organizations meet critical needs every day and utilize volunteers in a variety of capacities. Go to our website to learn more about the agencies we fund.

Some of the volunteer opportunities include; serving as a big brother or big sister, tutoring children or teaching adults to read, giving a child a voice through the CASA program, serving as an adult mentor through Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and 4-H. Delivering meals to the elderly.

All of our agencies are governed by volunteer boards of directors. Agencies are always looking for people willing to serve the community in this capacity.

Other volunteer opportunities include being helping with the United Way's fundraising campaign.
