Mission Statement

The Boston Bicycle Festival was started to address the growing convergence of concerns around public health (the need for better nutrition and more physical activity), transportation and environmental pollution (too many cars), the desire to increase Bostonâ s attractiveness as a place for young professionals to live and work, and a love of bicycling as something that positively contributes to all of these issues. We want to make bicycling more accessible to young people and others who may not have a chance to experience this wonderful activity. In the long run, we hope to encourage additional people â children and adults â to become bicyclists. OUR GOALS * Bring people together to celebrate Bostonâ s parks, neighborhoods, cultural diversity, and architectural beauty. * Share Boston as a welcoming community in which to live and work * Promote health through city-wide biking event

Description

Our vision is to create a sustainable program, grounded in an annual big event but surrounded by yearlong activity that brings large numbers of people together from different neighborhoods and towns to celebrate bike riding and the host city.
