Mission Statement

To work with adjudicated youth to lessen the impact of their incarceration and provide them with the life skills that are critical for success upon their release. For Our Youth, We: Inspire them with a biblical foundation; Stabilize them with a youth development and academic curriculum based on research findings from The Search Institute and; Re-introduce them to the community through our community mentoring program

Description

Our Theme is - "Draw the Line, Cross the Bridge, Don't Look Back" It represents the 3 stages of our engagement with youth who are in juvenile detention. We build relationships with youth while in juvenile detention and create an safe environment during our group discussions and programs that challenges their thinking, explores conceptions and misconceptions about life, and challenges them to draw the line for themselves about their life. Cross the Bridge is the mentoring phase where we match them with relevant effective adults who help them go from the life they know now to a life they have not known, one with hope, goals and lots of support. Don't Look Back - is the launchpad phase where we are heavily resourcing the youth and families with contacts and information that supports the goals of the youth. All Volunteer Staff will be a minimum of 25 years of age.
