Mission Statement

GCI works with communities and schools in Greater Mpigi Districts (Wakiso, Mpigi, Butambala and Gomba) to promote a natural, health environment and decrease negative climate change effects through tree planting and Agroforestry and improving peoples livelihoods through:

  • Gender (Women Empowerment)
  • Poverty alleviation
  • Water and sanitation

Description

Genesis Conservation Ideas (GCI) is a locally based, Non-profit Organisation, Reg No: S.5914/9082 founded in 2010, after realizing that the once abundantly forested homeland was seriously denuded. It took the initiative and engaged in collecting and developing Ideas, to help mitigate global climate change challenges and equally important, demonstrating the economic value of a green environment in sustainable development, creating positive outcomes for future generations.

  • Running the day by day Office / field activities and fundraising
  • Establish Communityand school Tree Nurseries and Tree planting for climate change effects
  • Conservation Awareness in schools and Communities
  • Designing projects and capacity building for GCI
  • Work in poverty alleviation agricultural projects for food safety and hunger
  • Water and sanitation (water harvesting ) in community and schools
