Mission Statement

Fundacion Chol-Chol aims at promoting a better quality of life for the Mapuche and rural community of the Ninth region of Chile. We do this by strengthening the families' self-sufficient, social and economic development and by advancing their cultural recognition.

Description

Non governmental organization located in Southern Chile where its Chilean sister organization, 'Fundacion Chol-Chol', work with Mapuche women providing a Fair-Trade commercial venue for their tradicional weavings.

We seek volunteer support from University graduates for a three-month minimum period of time to work in the programs carried out in Southern Chile.

No program fees, but volunteers should be able to afford their international travel and monthly room&board. Montly living costs are about US$ 320.
