Mission Statement
Oberlin Community Services is a responsive community organization that provides direct assistance, referrals, outreach services, and educational support to Oberlin, New Russia Township, and southern Lorain County residents who seek help meeting basic needs.
Description
Oberlin Community Services has been a fixture in Oberlin for over 50 years, beginning as a group of concerned citizens looking to provide referrals, information, and limited assistance, and evolving into the the agency we are today. We provide emergency housing, utility, prescription, and food assistance to residents of southern Lorain County. Our choice food pantry is open every weekday, as well as the second Saturday of each month. To supplement our pantry during the summer growing season, we have a large community garden, which provides any community member with free access to fresh, locally-grown produce. We also coordinate many services within the city, including America Counts, a middle-school tutoring program, and Meals On Wheels, a service to provide delivery of daily meals to homebound residents.
