Mission Statement

NCPRS is committed to helping youth live healthy, productive lives.

Description

The vision of NCPRS is to educate and impact our nation’s youth to make healthier life choices through our relationships with like-minded advocates providing them with unique prevention programming, research and evaluation.

The National Center for Prevention and Research Solutions (NCPRS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in South Daytona, Florida. NCPRS’s activities and programs are directed at providing children with the skills and tools they need to resist negative behavior and make good choices in their lives.

For over 20 years, NCPRS's Race Against Drugs and Stay on Track programs have reached out t o over one million children, providing solid role models and engaging them in educational activities that are proven to increase their knowledge about the effects of substance abuse, their intent to refrain from using harmful substances, and their intent to advocate for their peers to also resist use.

NCPRS's Stay on Track (SOT) program helps children improve their: self-esteem; decision-making skills; knowledge of drugs, alcohol and tobacco; and understanding of media influences. Stay on Track is listed on the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA) National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP), which serves as a vital resource for organizations seeking to implement evidence-based interventions.

NCPRS's nationwide network of volunteer spokespersons, the RAD Racing Team, meets with children at race events, schools and community events to bolster the commitment to remain drug free and live healthy, productive lives.

NCPRS has over a decade of direct research and evaluation experience, collaborating with its corporate and university partners to design and conduct qualitative and quantitative studies.

NCPRS understands prevention is the most effective method of dealing with the substance abuse issue in this country, and is far more cost effective than either intervention or interdiction. We truly believe youth are our most precious resource and must be nurtured, educated, and equipped to deal with life's challenges.
