Mission Statement

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

Description

Relay for Life of San Fernando is a year round community event that culminates with an overnight celebration of hope and cancer survivorship every July. Participating Relay teams camp out and take turns walking a track throughout the night in honor of those who have fought cancer and in memory of those who are no longer with us. Funds raised through Relay for Life of San Fernando support the life saving work of the American Cancer Society. Relay for Life of San Fernando 2012 is on path to establish all-time highs in the number of survivors, participants, and teams registered.
