The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. Our mission is to create an inclusive learning environment aimed at closing the achievement gap in the Greater Kansas City Area.
WHO WE ARE
Collaborative Response (CR) is a not-for-profit organization that was created in 2011 to become a resource to the schools around the Kansas City Metro Area. We partner with the schools to help strengthen students in their academics. Tutoring, mentoring, and educational activities are our main focus. Most importantly, this organization specializes in enriching and heightening the successes of low performing students so they can flourish throughout life.
WHAT WE DO
Collaborative Response (CR) partners with educational institutions and other business professionals in the community who mentor and tutor students in the organization. Students are entered into the program through assessments to identify the skill levels on the core subjects. The grades we tutor are:
3 rd Grade- Reading, Writing, Math, and Social Skills.
4 th Grade- Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Skills.
5 th Grade- Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Social Skills.
