To provide the leadership, research, education and advocacy to improve public policies and programs impacting the health and welfare of all people in Missouri-especially the most vulnerable.
MASW conducts research on social problems and issues, holds public informational forums and conferences; works to build coalitions to address social justice; and undertakes advocacy activities. MASW uses its four-fold approach to help develop leaders, to monitor policy making, to advocate for innovative and progressive policies, to educate its membership and the public, and to support initiatives that provide authentic avenues for opportunity and development for underrepresented constituencies. This four-fold approach plays a prominent role in working to change the root causes of economic and social injustice in the Associationà ¢à  à  s task force areas of child abuse prevention, criminal justice, asset development, economic justice, housing/homelessness, hunger, human rights, health and mental health.
