Mission Statement

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami is a Christian ministry that transforms lives and communities by providing low-income families with affordable homeownership opportunities

We build and renovate decent homes, which families purchase at cost and with a 0% interest loan.

We engage people of conscience within our community by providing volunteer and financial support opportunities to accomplish the building of homes and communities in partnership with low-income families.

Description

Miami Habitat's ReStore is a retail outlet that sells donated building materials, appliances and household furniture to the public.

All of the proceeds from the ReStore are channeled back into the construction of Habitat homes.

In addition to being a vital source of revenue funding Miami Habitat's mission of creating homeownership opportunities, the ReStore is also a way for Habitat to repurpose surplus building materials and other supplies.

Residential construction in Miami-Dade County generates enough waste to build an additional 575 houses a month; to keep homes affordable and efficient, Habitat finds ways to avoid this waste. The ReStore helps families across the Greater Miami community reuse what we can't reduce or recycle.
