Description

LifeSigns is a non-profit organization that provides women who are facing financial and/or environmental challenges a place to discover and develop a positive and productive lifestyle that serves them and the community in which they live. This will be done through programs that offer GED assistance, Career Skills, Life and Financial Skills, and Personal and Professional Developmental Coaching and Mentoring. Our goal is to strive in setting a standard for all women by empowering them with the knowledge and skills needed so that they may lead by example thereby causing others to follow!

In response to Dayna W: We have contacted her directly to express our regret in not responding as quickly as she had expected. LifeSigns is an all-volunteer organization and we typically respond immediately to any volunteer interest. In this case, the request came in at a time when we were training our new marketing director (to whom she would have reported) and between that and the Thanksgiving holiday 11 working days passed between her original response and her 'recommendation' here on VolunteerMatch. We hate that we didn't respond in a timely fashion and wish that she had contacted us directly so that we could have discussed and addressed this situation.

Maybe it's the holiday season, or maybe they just don't like my skills or location but I never heard back after the introductory email. Even a "thanks but no thanks" would have been preferable to being ignored. Oh well. Better luck next time I suppose.
