Mission Statement

Redwood City Police Activities League (PAL) is a nonprofit community based organization that was founded in 1995 at the initiative of Police Chief Carlos Bolanos with the support of the City of Redwood City. PAL provides intervention, prevention, and alternative programs to at-risk and economically challenged youth in Redwood City. The purpose is to help youth assimilate honest values, assets, and skills. PAL collaborates with several organizations which is critical to provide effective delinquency outreach and prevention programs. PAL influences thousands of children and teen lives in positive ways each year.

Description

While open to all with low fees and financial assistance to make participation possible for more than 10,000 youth since its inception, PAL currently targets over 2,500 juveniles and their families in a disadvantaged southeastern area of Redwood City each year. Redwood City Police Activities Leagueà ¢à  à  s primary objectives are: à  à · Provide youth with intervention, prevention and alternate programs to juvenile delinquency. à  à · Provide youth with positive role models and mentors, so they can make positive life decisions. à  à · Provide youth and their families with improved life skills that will ensure a better quality of life. à  à · Develop the whole child by offering diverse activities that include social, physical and intellectual stimulation. à  à · Provide families with resources that will contribute to a higher quality of life.
