The mission of the Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space (MoRUS) is to preserve history and promote scholarship of grassroots urban space activism by researching and archiving efforts to create community spaces. We will also exhibit materials that document these actions, to educate people on the political implications of reclaimed space. All interns must submit a resume and cover letter. This is an unpaid position and you must be willing to contribute at least 15 hours a week for 3 months, but we are really flexible. Almost all interns operate from the front desk of the museum so you must have good greeting skills and some organizing ability. The video creating/editing intern will help to create video content for the museum's website and social media pages. They will help promote the museum and our events.

Time's UP! environmental organization runs a bicycle repair co-op in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We are currently looking for volunteers/interns to help run the bicycle repair workshop space every Wednesday and Sunday from 5PM-9PM. We need someone responsible to open/close the space and watch over the bike repair workshops. It would be helpful if you had some experience with tools, but not required to fulfill this position. This is a first floor location which the public has walk-in access to. In addition to fixing and maintaining the bicycles in the community, Time's UP! also runs a recycle-a-bike program out of the same location + limited sales of used bicycles. Although people rarely buy stuff, mostly bike parts, there is very little money exchange. You would be trained on how to perform the space manager duties. You would be helping promote non-polluting sustainable transportation and being part of the solution to climate change. Requirements: organizational skills / people skills Minimum commitment: 3 months / Wednesday AND Sunday evening every week Please check out our website for more info: http://www.times-up.org/
