Description

The Athens Twilight Criterium is a weekend of sports, music, and festival fun. This intensely popular, nationally recognized event brings over 30,000 spectators and athletes to downtown Athens annually. The feature bicycle race, the Twilight Criterium, has always been a highlight of the pro cycling season. It was heralded by VeloNews (the top U.S. cycling publication) as the number one Criterium Not To Missà and was voted Number by their poll of professional and amateur racers. For the past 18 years, the Twilight has been part of the National Cycling Calendar, and it hosts the largest and oldest handcycle race in the United States. The Twilight has always stood apart from other criteriums and is popular not just with racers, but with its huge crowd of spectators.
