Mission Statement

RSVP recognizes the impact of Senior Citizens by promoting community involvement through meaningful volunteer opportunities.

RSVP stands for "Retired and Senior Volunteer Program" and is a volunteer agency for individuals, aged 55 or older, who donate their time and talent to the community. RSVP is primarily supported by The Corporation for National Service and United Way and is sponsored by Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada, established in the 1970's. RSVP volunteers serve in a diverse range of nonprofit organizations, public agencies, and faith-based groups. Among other activities, volunteers mentor at-risk youth, organize neighborhood watch programs, test drinking water for contaminants, teach English to immigrants, and lend their business skills to community groups that provide critical social services. In fiscal year 2001, approximately 480,000 volunteers served an average of four hours a week at an estimated 65,000 local organizations.

Would you recommend Retired and Senior Volunteer Program?

I worked with Sara Reiss at Catholic Charities RSVP and she did a wonderful job of getting me placed with a great organization. I have also done a few special events and had a good experience. I get the support I need and they pay mileage.
