Relay For Life of Tri-County Planning Committee

Relay For Life is a grass roots, community-based team event. During a Relay event, participants and survivors celebrate what they've overcome. We remember people lost to the disease, and honor people who have fought or are fighting cancer. The event inspires Relay participants to take action against a disease that has taken too much. Relay For Life feels like a community wide festival with the sole purpose of raising money to eradicate cancer- we have entertainment, food, and activities for the whole family to enjoy! Our Tri-County event is a merged effort between Caswell, Rockingham, and Stokes counties. We have a committee of volunteers who plan Relay For Life event each year. Positions on the committee range from everything like survivor/caregiver recognition, social media, activities and entertainment and more! We're searching for volunteer members from each of the three represented counties (Caswell, Rockingham, and Stokes). If you're interested in learning more, please reach out! Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Planning Committee

The American Cancer Society started Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks to unite communities in the fight against this deadly disease. Today, Making Strides is the largest network of breast cancer events in the nation - and we do more than just walk. We raise money to help the American Cancer Society fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and provide patient services like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near treatment, and a live 24/7 cancer helpline. But we can’t do any of this without the help of people like you! Our Making Strides of the Triad event has a dedicated group of volunteers who plan the event from start to finish, and we are looking for additional people to join us! Available volunteer positions include: Sponsorship Team Recruitment Online Fundraising Survivor/Caregiver Logistics Entertainment/Activities/Kids Zone Day-Of Volunteer Recruitment Vendor/Food Trucks Publicity/Marketing Mission/Advocacy Social Media Time Commitment: 1-2 hours weekly (depending on your role) Monthly committee meetings Day of event support
