Mission Statement
The mission of the Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex, a regional section of the Division of State History Museums, is to collect, preserve and interpret the cultural history of sourthern North Carolina and the state for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations. Through exhbiits and educational programming, the complex raises awareness of the past and its influence on the present. The historical complex also provides technical assistance to non-profit historical groups with ints region.
Description
The Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex consists of a two story, regional history museum, the 1897 Poe House(a Victorian House museum), and Arsenal Park, ( the site of the 1839 Fayetteville Arsenal burned by Gen. Sherman during the Civil War).
