Mission Statement

Dobies and Little Paws Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)3 charity. Our main facility is located in rural Fillmore, California on a small ranch dedicated to animal rescue and to finding new homes for all of our charges. We also have a West Los Angeles site. At any time, approximately 50 Doberman Pinschers are waiting for homes as well as about 20 other mixed-breed dogs.

We're a no-kill sanctuary. That means that we do NOT euthanize any dogs that don't get adopted. We do not usually have puppies, as we are not breeders. Saving a dog from our sanctuary is similar to rescuing one from an animal shelter, with three main advantages:

1. The dog's temperament is generally better known

2. The dog is believed to be free of serious disease such as distemper and parvovirus

3. The dog has a safe place to return to in the

event the adoption does not work out

as anticipated

We ALWAYS take our dogs back for any reason whatsoever.

Open house in our Fillmore site is Saturday from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Please plan on spending a minimum of an hour choosing your new friend and completing the adoption process. Please be patient! Sometimes everyone shows up at the same time. Since we close at 3:00 p.m., please try to be here no later than 2:00 p.m. Appointments can be made during the week or on sunday to see individual dogs.

The West Los Angeles site is available for seeing the dogs at flexible times. Please contact Andrea at (310) 472-3963 or Robert at (310) 459-1174 to see the dogs in West Los Angeles.

Operated by Ardis Braun since 1987, more than 9,000 dogs have been saved and placed in new homes solely through her outstanding dedication. Support is provided by a small army of dedicated volunteers and staff members.
