Mission Statement

Our mission is to humanely stabilize the free-roaming cat population in our community, primarily through spay and neuter, education, and responsible adoptions. For feral cats - cats who are shy, not socialized to people, and not suitable for indoor homes - we practice trap-neuter-return, or TNR.

Description

Community Cats is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to a comprehensive approach to caring for our community’s cats. Our mission is to help free-roaming cats living outside through spay/neuter, vaccinations, and basic veterinary care. For cats that are feral, which simply means shy and not socialized to people, we practice trap-neuter-return, or TNR, whereby cats are spayed/neutered, receive basic veterinary care, and returned to their outdoor homes, with the goal of stabilizing outdoor cat populations. We have many beautiful and loving kittens and cats available for adoption that we find in the course of our work. Through our approach of responsibly taking in for adoption the friendly cats and young kittens we find and spaying/neutering the other cats, we see outdoor cat populations in entire neighborhoods stabilize. Please visit our website at www.communitycatsct.org for additional information regarding how to request spay/neuter assistance, adopt one of our wonderful fosters, make a donation, or volunteer.
