Mission Statement

The Bloomington Sister City Organization, Inc. (BSCO), promotes international understanding through exchanges of people, information, and ideas.

Our goals are to establish friendships, build understanding, and develop economic relationships.

Description

Our Sister City relationship with Izumi City (Osaka) Japan began in 1993. Much of our efforts revolve around delegations going to or coming from Japan. We have delegation of students as well as marathon runners (the Senshu Marathon in February and the Twin Cities Marathon in October).

Our major fund raiser is a dinner and silent auction called Taste of Japan, typically held in February or March each year. We have also been fortunate to recieve grants from local (Bloomington) businesses as well.
