Mission Statement
Making Mentoring Meaningful (MMM) is a partnership of dedicated family, community members, and community organizations working together to provide mentoring and supports to children of incarcerated adults, and their families in the Greater Grand Boulevard Community Area. The goals of MMM are to work with children to develop positive relationships, improve social development, and develop skills to assist them in becoming healthy and productive community members. Additionally, MMM seeks to strengthen the participating families by providing appropriate links to supportive services.
Description
The Making Mentoring Meaningful (MMM) Program seeks mentors that are committed to making a difference through sharing their time and experiences with a child. MMM provides youth with incarcerated parents the opportunity to be matched one-on-one with a mentor for academic and recreational support. Being matched to a mentor allows children the opportunity to not only enjoy activities and outings, but to build a relationship with a caring, responsible adult.
