Mission Statement

The Georgia House Rabbit Society has two primary goals: 1. To rescue abandoned domestic rabbits and to find permanent homes for them, and 2. To educate the public and assist humane societies on proper rabbit care. Our Philosophy: All rabbits are valuable as individuals, regardless of breed, purity, temperament, state of health, or relationship to humans. It is in the best interest of domestic rabbits to be neutered or spayed, to live in human housing, and to be treated for illnesses by veterinarians. Rabbits are intelligent, social animals who require mental stimulation, toys, exercise, environmental activity, and social interaction with, as appropriate, people, other rabbits and other household companion animals.

Description

The Georgia House Rabbit Society is a nonprofit, volunteer-based 501c3 organization. GHRS provides for the rescue, care and rehoming of abused and abandoned domesticated rabbits in need. Through education and outreach, the organization strives to inform the public on proper rabbit care.

The Georgia House Rabbit Society has a rabbit shelter in Kennesaw, Georgia which includes housing for their adoptable buns, a store open to the public which sells quality products for rabbits, and a boarding facility so that rabbit owners in the area have a safe environment to care for their rabbits while away. Grooming services are also available! All sales from the store, boarding and grooming go towards the upkeep of the shelter and the care of the buns.
