Mission Statement

LifeFlight Eagle is a nonprofit community service dedicated to serving the community by providing safe, quality air transport of critically ill and injured persons in a timely and cost effective manner.

Description

LifeFlight Eagle is the areaa^??s first air ambulance provider and only nonprofit air ambulance provider. Having transported more than 35,000 patients since 1978, many individual lives have been deeply affected by our service. LifeFlight Eagle sets the highest benchmark for training and equipment standards. Our teams of pilots, nurses and paramedics must meet increasingly higher standards proving aptitude, skill sets and achievement. Since the early days of air ambulance transport, medical and aviation technologies have dramatically improved. Where once our primary focus was trauma alone, we now also act as a vital link in the very time-sensitive process of saving heart attack, stroke and OB/GYN patients in need of rapid transport to specialty care centers in Kansas City and other cities. Simultaneously, we have greatly improved in-flight trauma care with faster helicopters, greatly improved medical technology and a very highly trained flight crew. The result of our significant enhancements over the years is a mission statement that is better fulfilled than was originally feasible. LifeFlight Eaglea^??s program is also distinguished by its local three-hospital board of directors. In this environment, LifeFlight Eagle posts the highest standards for training and certification in the region. This includes doctor-ordered case management sessions for training, education, examining protocols and advanced protocol planning with concurrent in-house staff training of all case management findings and guidelines.
