Mission Statement

The mission of The Ride for Hope is to raise money in order to support keeping cancer care and treatment close to home by providing families with comprehensible and compassionate care right here in the Florida Big Bend area. Also, to help people live by promoting healthy lifestyles, through physical activity, health related information and cancer awareness.

Description

The Ride for Hope is a fun filled cyclist and wellness event for the entire family. There will be five different distance rides from a family fun ride/walk to a 100 mile "century." Vendors will be on site providing free health and fitness information along with blood pressure checks and health screenings. The Family Fun Festival will include music, live entertainment, food, face painting, and much more. The Ride for Hope is modeled after the highly successful Lance Armstrong Foundation's annual bike ride and inspired by the amazing Lou Farrah and his remarkable family. Lou Farrah passed away in November 2006, but his legacy lives on through this ride. Everything done through the Ride for Hope is a testament to Lou's vision to have a charity event in Tallahassee to benefit cancer patients and survivors in our community.
