The Share Your Voice Foundation's (SYVF) mission is simple. We strongly believe in the transformative power of the Arts to change lives. We're dedicated to helping young people (primarily disadvantaged and at-risk teens in rural areas ages 13-17) through powerful collaborative experiences such as the Empowerment through Performance (ETP) Workshop program.
SYVF serves these teens regardless of race, religion, creed, sex or socio-economic status. We are committed to making a difference through the tremendous power of the Arts by helping them find and share their voice to promote positive difference.
Through the unique mesh of the creative fields of writing, performance, music and film, participants from SYVF's summer outreach program are encouraged to unleash their creativity in a safe environment while improving self-esteem and developing strong, effective communication skills. They are guided to discover their own innate talents, cultivate a sense of pride and appreciate the importance of collaborating with others.
SYVF has already helped over 100 young participants develop higher self-esteem, contribute to their community and become the best they can be. They have graduated from high school, gone on to be awarded college scholarships to Princeton, degrees at MSU, joined and performed in other community theatre groups, and generally succeed living their lives with a greater sense of happiness and solid self-concept. Many choose to return the following year as volunteers to champion the next group of participants.
