Mission Statement
Building Women Leaders is a generational program designed to bring women community leaders into contact with young women (ages 16 to 25) to share leadership, personal development and management skills. These young women will in turn share their new talents with young girls (ages 5 to 15) to develop projects that directly benefit our partner families in areas such as financial planning, homeowner maintenance, technology, leadership, personal development, and emergency planning. The end result each year will be a Women Build house.
Description
Habitat for Humanity's Women Build program is working toward the elimination of poverty housing â  one home, one family at a time. The focus of Women Build is on empowering women to take action to move children out of poverty. Women-built projects provide an opportunity for women to learn construction in a supportive environment. Building Women Leaders works to nurture, recruit and train women to build and maintain simple, decent, healthy and affordable homes.
