Description
KAKAMMPI is an organization of Overseas Filipino Workers, migrant returnees, and their families. It was established in 1983, and blossomed into a massive organization with local chapters in Metro Manila and adjacent provinces such as Rizal, Pampanga, Zambales, Pangasinan, Bataan, Ifugao, Benguet, Bicol, Cagayan, Tarlac, Tacloban, Iloilo, Cebu and Zamboanga. KAKAMMPI was formed to protect the rights and welfare of Overseas Filipino Workers and their families, and to effectively respond to the growing problems of labor migration in the country. It aims to achieve it vision by implementing integrated programs that strengthen family support system that facilitates empowerment. KAKAMMPI is an active member of eight national networks and two international networks. It maintains partnership with 50 migrant NGOs, GOs, support groups and advocates worldwide.
