Mission Statement

A BOUT SUPPORT NEEDY LOVELY CENTRE (SNLC)

This is non government organization, not profit oriented, it was formed in 2006 and become registered on 1 st /July/2008 as community based organization at community level to offers services to the communities of Kamuli district which as expanded its service allover the country.

According to the activities laid down in the constitution of the association/organization and regulation of Kamuli District Local Government. Provided support needy lovely centre a registration number NB.CD/2341 under directorate of gender and community services.

MISSION:

To contribute to reducing spread of HIV and AIDS in the community and improve the lives of people affected with special emphasis on disabled, children youth, elderly and widows.

VISION:

To promote empowerment of disabled, orphans, youth, elderly and widows living with HIV and AIDS.

GOALS:

To increase the number of community members who are committed to being involved in the fight against discriminations of disabled, HIV and AIDS and its effects.

To increase our capacity as a community group to provide integrated and sustainable child friendly HIV and AIDS services at the community and household income levels.

INTRODUCTION:

Support needy lovely centre action group is a group of volunteers (men, women and youth) involved in HIV and AIDS support action activities such as sensitization, counseling, home based care widows, disability support and orphan support etc.

The Action group is based in Busota trading centre in Kamuli District-Busoga Region.

The group has been trained in basic facts about HIV and AIDS counseling home basic care. Others in the group have received additional training in child counseling, family life education, youth life skills with out discrimination, organization development and group dynamics, basic leadership management skills, improving substance farming and training of trainers.

Currently the Action group has an immediate catchment area of 10 villages in Kitayunjwa Sub- County, Butansi Sub-County and Nabwigulu Sub-County in Kamuli District.

OBJECTIVES OF THE ORGANIZATION

  • To assist orphans and needy families to promote their health and education
  • To develop, improve methods of animal husbandry and poultry by utilization of batter farming
    • To increase the level of awareness in respect of HIV and AIDS in the catchment areas.
    • To train and equip 40 volunteers
    • To raise the motivation of the affected people.
    • To improve the welfare of the affected people.
    • To help parents affected with HIV and AIDS to plan for their children’s future.
    • Mobilize the community for involvement and concerned.
    • To ensure better food and economic security for children in affected families.
    • To develop modern agricultural methods for better productivity and better yields for creation of food security.
    • To empower women and youth on development projects.
    • To advocate for children’s rights and protection.
    • To make carpentry and building contracts as a source of income to the organization.
    • To promote unity within the association.
    • To promote economic development for the disabled and to assist them to identify and implement viable projects for them.
    • To promote and maintain environmental protection.
    • To assist victims of HIV and AIDS by counseling and provision of medication with a view to enable them accepts to live positively with AIDS.
    • To train the youth in vocational careers like building, carpentry, and construction of feeder roads for easy access to transport of farmers crops.

    • To acquire for use and benefit of the accuracy of the company, movable and immovable Properties, monies by way of gift, donation, grants or any other way for the advancement of the objectives of the organization.
    • To use and apply the income of the organization acquired solely for and to words the promotion of the objectives of the organization.
    • To do all such other lawful acts and things as are incidental, conductive and necessary for the attainment of the objectives of the organization.

MONITORING AND EVALUATION OF THE ORGANIZATION

  • The project objectives and work plan is used to direct, monitor and evaluate the progress and success of the project.
  • The director is responsible for the implementation of the work plan assisted by the project coordinator
  • They will receive, analyzing and summarize monthly and routine reports from the volunteers.
  • He will offer support supervision to all volunteers.
  • The Director will organize monthly meetings for the volunteers. These meetings will receive and discuss report and other pertinent matters.
  • The director has put in place a mechanism for receiving feedback from the communities and beneficiaries.

SUSTAINABILITY PLAN FOR THE ORGANIZATION

The principle source of income for the Action group activities have been and will continues to be the Action group members and partners who has funded specific activities/ projects. These will continue funding the work.

  • The trained volunteers are all residents of the catchment area and they will continue the work of sensitizing, counseling, home care and supporting the affected families.
  • The income generating activities to be funded by the project will provide income for the household needs while the sustainable farming initiative will result into batter nutrition and food security.
  • The communities will be mobilized and given complete and accurate information, which will continue circulating among them to promote prevention and fight stigma.
  • The Action group will continue to strengthen current collaboration with other disability organization, HIV and AIDS support organizations, it will also seek more collaboration/partners both locally and externally donors. More information, funds and ideas from these new collaborations will enable the action group to continue intervening on a wide scale.

Always in my heart believe that Christy work in Uganda is done by very many organization but I visited support needy lovely centre Uganda and I found that their work is at the ground and any one who wants to learn on community problems with related projects that they offer, you will gain experience and enjoy it. visit them and find a change.
