Mission Statement
Safe Rides is the official program of the Venturing Division of the Boys Scouts of America and works as a catalyst to bring interested co-ed young adults, ages 14-18, together with supportive adults in order to help prevent the potentially fatal problem of drunk driving by offering a safe ride home.
**Safe Rides DOES NOT condone drinking but accepts the fact that some teens will drink regardless of what they have learned about its adverse affects.**
Description
Safe Rides is a peer to peer program that is offered to high school students by providing one safe ride home on Fridays and Saturdays from 10PM until 1:30AM during the school year. It is the dedication, enthusiasm, and caring attitude of the Safe Rides students who are able to change their peers' attitudes about drinking and driving by setting a positive non-judgemental example.
