Mission Statement

PPMM believes in the fundamental and private right of each individual to manage his or her fertility, that family health care is an extension of reproductive health care and that reproductive self determination and universal access to family health care will enhance the quality of life, strong family relationships and population stability. Based on these convictions, the mission of Planned Parenthood Mar Monte is to ensure the knowledge, opportunity, and freedom to make every child a wanted child and every family a healthy family.

Description

Planned Parenthood Mar Monte (PPMM) is the largest Planned Parenthood affiliate in the U.S., providing medical and education services to more than 300,000 people annually at our 33 healtj center locations in California and Nevada.

Planned Parenthood Mar Monte works within three areas: education, advocacy and health care services. Through culturally sensitive, bilingual outreach, education and counseling programs, Planned Parenthood Mar Monte gives community members of all ages and backgrounds the information they need to make educated, responsible decisions about their health and sexuality. PPMM is also active as a public policy advocate at the local, state and national levels, raising public awareness on issues that affect access to reproductive and health care services. We have 33 centers in 28 counties in California and Northern Nevada. Our health centers provide a wide range of low or no cost services to men and women, including primary health care, prenatal and pediatric care, and reproductive health services such as birth control and STD testing and treatment.
