Mission Statement
DCCADV's mission is two-fold: 1) to eradicate all types of relationship violence including: domestic violence, spousal rape, sexual assault, stalking, mental and emotional abuse, and acquaintance rape through the coordinated mobilization of efforts to effect systemic social change; and 2) to build a city wide response in the District and surrounding jurisdictions in partnership with the community, providers, and concerned others to more effectively ensure the safety, security, and justice needs of those living with violence and abuse. DCCADV pursues these goals through its focus on advocacy, direct services, public education, public policy, technical assistance and training, resources and research.
Description
The DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence is a resource for the thousands of adults and children experiencing domestic violence in the District each year, as well as the local organizations that serve them.
The Coalition offers support and services for today, and education, advocacy and leadership to shape a violence-free future for families in the District of Columbia.
