Mission Statement

Tsunami REACH's primary mission is to assist in returning the Sri Lankan people victimized by the December 26th Tsunami back to safe, decent and dignified housing by providing US technology, training and support to any individual, community, Non-Government and Charity Based Organizations (NGO & CBO) responsible for reconstruction homes that have been destroyed.

The name, Reconstruction Efforts Aiding Communities without Homes (REACH), reflects this mission.

Description

Tsunami REACH, is a non-profit, 501c3 charity formed in February 2005 to aid the victims of the December 26th Tsunami Natural Disaster in Sri Lanka in rebuilding their lives by rebuilding their homes.

Tsunami REACH's Manufacturing & Training Program is designed to aid Habitat For Humanity Sri Lanka and other Charity Based Organizations, by providing them with a consistent supply of building materials, training and direct access to a service program so that they have what is needed to complete their individual housing initiatives. The Building System and Program addresses the immediate need for environmentally friendly, culturally effective, cost-effective, up-to-date building methods that simplifies the building process without the use of timber (wood).

The Program can train the thousands of workers with the proper skills and techniques that will be required to rebuild more than 75,000 tsunami devastated homes. The building system uses NO timber, structural components will be made in Sri Lanka, are at least 10% cheaper than Timber, and can quickly be erected using unskilled labor.

Our environmentally friendly Building Technology & Program has been endorsed by Habitat For Humanity Sri Lanka & the Sri Lanka Wildlife Conservation Society. Read their endorsements on our website.
