- Our mission is to provide children affected by a parent’s cancer with a supportive, lifelong camp community that recognizes and understands their unique needs. We also empower college students to make a difference and build invaluable leadership skills by developing and managing every aspect of their Camp Kesem chapter.
Camp Kesem is a national nonprofit providing free overnight summer camps for children ages 6 -16 with a parent who has or has had cancer. Camp Kesem provides a safe and supportive atmosphere, where children befriend peers who can uniquely relate to their situation, and gain the strategies and confidence needed to cope with their parent's illness or death.
Camp Kesem's mission also serves the thousands of college student volunteers who create every aspect of their Camp Kesem chapter while gaining valuable real world leadership skills and developing their passion for making a difference in the world.
Camp Kesem is a 501(c)3 organization with over ten years of growth and success. There are currently 37 camps in 22 states - including programs at the University of Texas and Texas A&M.
Our vision is to bring the life-changing benefits of Camp Kesem to any family coping with cancer. To learn more about Camp Kesem visit www.campkesem.org
