Mission Statement

Strengthen the community by providing invaluable support, guidance and resources to the DC Metropolitan Area foster care youth & emancipated young adults.

We assure the teens are valued, have a voice and are provided the same opportunities as their peers to obtain the skills and competencies necessary to transition into adulthood independently.

Description

We are a parent to the parentless, providing housing support, employment and academic enrichment programs; guidance and support; counseling; peer mentoring; workshops that addresses financial literacy, drugs, alcohol, domestic violence, anger management, health, spirituality, life skills, goal planning, legal issues and more!

We collaborate with businesses, community agencies, individuals and universities to have a strong external relationship that will assist the youth and young adults reach beyond and achieve greatness.

We serve District of Columbia most at risk youth ages 12 to 24 who are more likely to age out of foster care or who have emancipated. Once discharged from care, there are limited public or community-based services available for these young adults. We help the youth experience a safe, supported transition from foster care to independent adulthood.

Our innovative programs neutralizes the youths past, negative experiences and cultivate and sustain a new, positive life perspective by healing, strengthening, transitioning and inspiring the youths to "never be bullied into silence, never allow themselves to be made a victim. Accept no one’s definition of their life; define themselves".

Collectively, the programs provide:

- Emotional support

- Financial Security

- Educational Attainment

- Employment Retention

- Improve Health

- Community Connection

- Crisis intervention
