More than Music

What is this organization about? The answer can be summed up in one word: more.

Are we a band that travels and performs concerts? Yes, and more. When our feature group, Dave LeMieux and House of Soul, sets its itinerary, eqaul time is given to concerts and clinics, big jazz festivals and small shelters, suburban academies and urban public schools.

Are we a music academy that teaches lessons? Yes, and more. We extend scholarships and offer free instruments; we use the lesson fees to support everything from school assemblies to free concerts.

Are we cutural ambassadors, sharing American music with other nations throught partnership with the US State Dept. and others? Yes, and more. We combine concerts with free master classes and instrument giveaways. Our service to the cause only begins when we are on stage.

Because we believe that music is more than just entertainment- that it is a powerful force for healing, for transformation, and for fostering community- we need to be more than just a band, an academy, or a group of ambassadors. That is why we named our organization More Than Music. More Than Music, Inc. is a registered, 501(c)-3 organization.
