Rising STARS Tutoring Program

Mission Statement

Rising S.T.A.R.S. (Students Taking Action and Responsibility for Success) seeks to increase academic achievement by implementing an intensive tutoring program and helping students achieve grade-level proficiency through: Education--we seek to foster increased academic performance and functionality through the components of specialized reading and math curricula in one-on-one tutoring. Advocacy--we strive make students advocates for themselves, their communities and their human families. Support--our aim is be a support mechanism for our students, not only through the after-school program but also through providing resources both in and outside the school in conjunction with the Hyde Community. Exploration--we will be a catalyst by which students can participate in challenging and fun activities, while giving them tools to excel academically and foster new possibilities at school, at home and in their community.
